A tranquil buoy in the still water, seen from Gjøl, Nordjylland. Rarely do we get weather like this in Nordjylland. Especially when it comes to the wind. I’ve never seen the Limfjord so still – Not before and not after I took this image. And I see the water almost every day.
I took the image on the 2nd of January at 16.20 – The sun had already set at 15.51. So the white you see in the image is the afterglow of the sunset. And then I just really liked the blue color scheme on this particular image. It is almost watercolor-like.
That’s also why this image is printed on a special paper called Hahnemühle Photo Rag. It has a rough surface texture, while the image is still super crisp. The texture is similar to Aquarelle paper in surface and stiffness. I would recommend handling the paper with care and framing it with a Passepartout and putting glass in front.
Be aware that the 1000x700mm edition has a white border around the edge.
